Teeth Whitening

At Coral Springs Dental we have two options for bleaching. We use ZOOM whiting commonly seen on makeover TV shows. The idea behind this non-invasive dental procedure is to break down the hydrogen peroxide (in whitening gel) by the Zoom lamp light and enable oxygen to enter the tooth dentin and enamel. The tooth structure remains intact whereas stains are bleached.

Patients feel no pain other than a slight sensitivity and tingling sensation. Yet this mild discomfort usually passes in 24 hours. The entire procedure takes from 60 to 120 minutes in most cases.

First things first, Dr. Scarlett will need to carry out an examination of your teeth and a cleaning prior to the Zoom whitening process. It is important to remove plaque and food particles from your teeth, as it can affect the process of whitening.

Our second option is our “take home” bleaching trays, the first appointment we take impressions of the patient’s mouth and the second appointment is where you receive the trays, solution, instructions and protective case. This option can also be combined with ZOOM and you can do touch ups at home!

Porcelain Crowns

Crowns (caps) are one of the strongest and best ways to change your teeth and are appropriate for many people. The tooth shape, color and position can all be altered with a Porcelain Crown. Custom shading is done to match the crown to the patients natural tooth color. Crowns are considered a Major Dental procedure and are typically covered at 50% by your dental plan.

Cosmetic Bonding

Bonding is covering the front surface of teeth with durable plastic to either change the tooth’s color or shape, or to rebuild broken teeth. Bonding is similar to Veneers, but not as strong, but it is a low-cost way to improve your smile. Bonding is great for children who have chipped front teeth and for adults who need an alternative for veneers and understand the limitations. Best part is that bonding is considered a Basic Dental procedure and at times is covered 100% by your dental plan.

Wisdom Teeth (Sedation Dentistry)

This is a common rite of passage for most people aged 18-22. Impacted wisdom teeth can be painful, cause bad breath and cause shifting of the remaining teeth. At times patients are nervous and apprehensive about getting their wisdom teeth removed. This is understandable as it is minor surgery and to help with this, at Coral Springs Dental we offer Sedation Dentistry. Sedation consists of pills that are taken the night before and the morning of the procedure. No food or drink are to be consumed after 6 pm the night before. The patient arrives at the office one hour prior to the scheduled start time and given time to relax and fall asleep. The medication is very effective and after 10 – 15 minutes the patient is usually asleep. Now the wisdom teeth can be removed with the patient being completely comfortable. Best part is that you slept through it all! Sedation can also be used for ANY Dental procedure ie. root canals, fillings, routine extractions.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® can be used to treat many conditions such as bruxism, teeth grinding, facial esthetics, TMJ symptoms and irregular jaw movements. Many of these conditions involve treatments that utilize a bulky mouth appliance. BOTOX® is quicker and more comfortable treatment option. When used for therapeutic purpose ( clenching and grinding ) BOTOX® lasts between 4-6 months, when used for cosmetic purposes, results last about 3-4 months.

Ask us whether BOTOX® is right for you.

Orthodontics

Dental braces (also known as braces, orthodontic cases, or  cases) are devices used in orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help position them with regard to a person's bite, while also aiming to improve dental health. They are often used to correct underbites, as well as malocclusionsoverbites, open bites, gaps, deep bitescross bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. Braces can be either cosmetic or structural. Dental braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to help widen the palate or jaws and to otherwise assist in shaping the teeth and jaws.
